Inter Battling SIX Premier League Clubs For In-Demand Bologna Star

Start

Inter are set to join the race for in-demand Bologna star Jhon Lucumi this summer. The Colombian is currently being pursued by six English Premier League clubs.

Lucumi has earned rave reviews for his performances at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara in 2024-25. The 26-year-old was also part of the side who beat Milan in the Coppa Italia final in May.

Furthermore, Lucumi was named in The Athletic’s Serie A Team of the Season. Now, a line of suitors are lining up to test the Rossoblu’s resolve.

Which Clubs Want To Sign Jhon Lucumi?

Last week, Bologna set a Sam Beukema asking price with Napoli keen to snare the Dutch star. Now, fellow defender Jhon Lucumi is also generating interest in Italy and abroad.

The Colombian international is on the radar of Inter, Roma as well as the Scudetto winners. A huge tug-of-war is set to ensue with almost a third of all English Premier League sides also declaring their interest.

Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford, Man United and Wolves are tracking Lucumi. It’s unclear at this stage which suitor the 26-year-old would favor but he certainly isn’t short of admirers.

Although Lucumi is happy at Bologna, it’s understood that he is seeking a new challenge. He is keen to leave the Dall’Ara this summer to test himself further ahead of the 2026 World Cup. Should Colombia qualify.

What Is Jhon Lucumi’s Release Clause?

One of the main factors as to why interest in John Lucumi is so high is due to his relatively low release clause. Bologna would have to accept any offers that come in to the tune of €28million.

Furthermore, Lucumi’s contract expires next summer and he isn’t willing to extend his stay with the Rossoblu. Therefore, Vincenzo Italiano’s side will reluctantly look to move Lucumi on as soon as possible.

Having spent the last three years in Serie A, the Bologna star may look to a new venture in England. Man United pose as an attractive option but their poor form on the field and lack of European soccer could be a cause for concern.

Brighton, Bournemouth and Brentford are all tempting destinations as well. The trio are renowned for snaring talent and selling them on for huge profits.

Aston Villa and Wolves are also in good shape currently. The latter are currently rebuilding after losing Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri and Lucumi would become a key member of the roster.

Villa can offer Europa League soccer next year and they have vastly improved under the guidance of Unai Emery.

Jhon Lucumi’s Style Of Play

The safest online betting sites are all in favor of Jhon Lucumi leaving Bologna this summer. However, what can his potential suitors expect from the 6ft 2in centre-back?

Lucumi is a versatile player who is comfortable operating in both high and low defensive lines. He excels in one-vs-one situations and is very rarely beaten on the ground or in an aerial duel.

The Colombian’s physicality, tactical awareness and composure are all attractive traits that have made him so popular this summer.

Lucumi is also a very good passer of the ball. He often contributes to playing through balls in attacking phases of play and his passing range is extremely versatile.
