Odion Ighalo has urged Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, to consider a move to Saudi Arabia as the Nigerian’s situation in Italy continues to drag on.
Where Will Victor Osimhen Go This Summer?
The Napoli striker has been one of the hottest topics across recent transfer windows, as the Nigerian continues to push for a move away from Naples.
Last season, the prolific striker failed to complete a permanent move away from the club and joined Galatasaray on loan in the final stages of the summer.
Osimhen went on to win the league and cup double in Turkey, while also picking up the Super Lig’s golden boot award with 26 goals in 35 appearances – the same tally of his golden boot season with Napoli in the season prior.
According to Serie A betting sites, the Turkish side are favorites to sign the 26-year-old this summer but will face competition from a host of European sides.
However, Osimhen’s future continues to hit the same obstacle as teams are reportedly unwilling to meet his wage demands and the striker already rejected a deal from Al Hilal.
The Saudi Arabian side appears to be the only side that is comfortable with Osimhen’s wage demands, but the Nigerian wants to continue his career in Europe.
What Did Ighalo Say About Victor Osimhen Going To Saudi Arabia?
As previously mentioned, Osimhen does not appear to be keen on a move to Saudi Arabia and will consider other options before thinking about a move to the Saudi Pro League.
His deal in Naples does not expire until June 2026, meaning the club are looking to sell the Nigerian before he becomes a free agent next summer.
Osimhen recently dropped a bombshell on his future in soccer during an interview with popular YouTube account, DaddyFreeze, and added further fuel to the fire.
Former Manchester United star, and fellow Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo, spoke about Osimhen’s future and urged the Napoli star to consider a move to Al Hilal.
Ighalo said: “He knows what he wants. He is a grown-up guy now and has worked hard to be where he is now. I think he has done well. Whatever decision he makes now, it is a win for him.
“If he asks me, of course, I will say go. Whatever decision it is a win for him. If he goes now or after two years, it is still the same. It doesn’t matter because last year they came and he didn’t go.
“They came back this year, and they will still come again.”In the world, if you want to mention two strikers and you don’t call his name, it is impossible.
“He is doing so well. In Africa, we underrate our own African players and potential. If you want to search the world now for a proper goalscorer, tell me two or three.
“It is not easy, agents calling every day with the media – I think Victor is mentally strong because he has gone through challenges in his life even at his age and he has overcome them.”
