Juventus Push to Sign Randal Kolo Muani Amid Premier League Interest

Start

Juventus are stepping up efforts to keep Randal Kolo Muani in Turin following the striker’s successful loan spell last season but face competition from Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Newcastle.

The 26-year-old forward, who joined Paris Saint-Germain for €95 million from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, struggled for game time under Luis Enrique and was loaned to Juventus in January 2025.

Since then, Kolo Muani has revived his form, delivering 10 goal contributions in 19 appearances across all competitions.

Juventus Transfer News: Talks Ongoing with PSG

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Fabrizio Romano, Juventus remains in daily contact with PSG and is preparing a new loan offer with an obligation to buy, potentially structured with add-ons tied to appearances and goals.

PSG, for their part, are reportedly open to this model and are seeking at least €50 million for a permanent deal.

Juve manager Igor Tudor is said to have made Kolo Muani a priority target and wants the striker in the squad for the remainder of pre-season. However, interest from English clubs has forced the Italian side to accelerate talks.

United, in particular, are now actively considering a move, especially after Marcus Rashford’s loan switch to Barcelona freed up squad space and salary budget.

Will Manchester United Hijack the Kolo Muani Deal?

United are monitoring Kolo Muani closely, with reports indicating he’s high on manager Ruben Amorim’s shortlist. The club is still debating the format of a potential deal, as they’re hesitant to meet PSG’s full asking price up front.

Newcastle has also entered the conversation, having missed out on top target Hugo Ekitike and looking increasingly likely to lose Alexander Isak. Kolo Muani, with a solid goals + assists per 90 record in France, Germany, and Italy, offers just that.

Kolo Muani’s preference appears to be a return to Turin, but with Juventus operating under financial constraints and PSG standing firm on their valuation, the coming week will be pivotal.

Juventus Considering Darwin Nunez as Backup Option

Should negotiations with PSG collapse or United win the race, Juventus has a Plan B: Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan forward, who scored seven goals and added seven assists in 47 appearances for Liverpool last season, has been the subject of recent inquiries from the Bianconeri.

While Nunez is not Juventus’ first choice, the club has asked Liverpool about a possible loan deal similar to the structure being proposed for Kolo Muani.

Nunez was also linked with Napoli earlier this summer but was priced out of the move with a reported €50m valuation.

How Good is Kolo Muani?

Despite a frustrating spell at PSG, Kolo Muani’s loan at Juventus last season was a clear success.

In just 19 appearances under Thiago Motta and later Igor Tudor, the Frenchman racked up 10 goal contributions, finishing with a goals + assists per 90 average of 0.76, matching his best form at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Beyond the numbers, Kolo Muani brought dynamism, movement, and much-needed end product to a Juventus side that had struggled in attack for the first half of the 2024/25 campaign.

His pace in transition and ability to drift wide or drop deep allowed the likes of Kenan Yildiz to thrive in more advanced roles, helping the team become far more fluid and dangerous in attack.

Had Kolo Muani maintained those figures across a full Serie A season, he would have finished among the league’s most productive forwards — and significantly outperformed Juve’s other striking options.

His blend of size, speed, and creativity fits well into Tudor’s plans for a more vertical, aggressive style of football.

Juventus view Kolo Muani not just as a short-term fix but as a potential long-term No. 9, capable of leading the line for years to come.

At 26, he has room to grow, and under the right conditions in Turin, where he already feels settled, the club believes he can evolve into one of the most complete forwards in Europe.

The challenge, of course, is financial. But from a sporting perspective, Juventus are all-in on Kolo Muani – and don’t want to see the player who helped spark their late-season resurgence end up back in Paris or wearing the red of Manchester United.

If Juventus can find the right formula — likely a paid loan with deferred obligations — the deal could go through. But if United decides to make a decisive offer, the Bianconeri could miss out and be forced to shift focus to Darwin Nunez or another target.
