Fiorentina Join The Race For Highly-Rated Scotland Midfielder Lennon Miller

The latest Serie A transfer news has revealed that Fiorentina has joined the race for highly-rated Scotland midfielder Lennon Miller. 

Head coach Stefano Pioli is keen to add more reinforcements in the middle of the pitch this summer. That despite the Viola signing Simon Sohm, Jacopo Fazzini and Nicolo Fagioli this window.

FootItalia sources told us that Pioli has been interested in Miller since returning to the Artemio Franchi Stadium on July 12. However, competition for the 18-year-old wonderkid is extremely fierce.

The pursuit of Phillips is more of a plan B at this stage. Miller is the preferred target and Fiorentina believes they can strike a deal with the 18-year-old starlet.

Winning the race for Lennon Miller’s signature won’t be straightforward from Fiorentina’s perspective. The likes of Torino and Udinese are also interested.

The latter were deemed as the frontrunners to sign Miller last week but with the Viola in the mix, they’ll believe the lure of European soccer could tilt the scales in their favor.

Cesc Fabregas’ Como – who are +500 to finish in the top four with Serie A betting sites this season – had also shown an interest in Miller earlier this summer.

Nonetheless, the Spaniard has reportedly cooled his pursuit in the Motherwell star. He has signed a number of midfielders already this summer.

How Much Would Lennon Miller Cost?

According to TransferMarkt, Lennon Miller has one year left on his contract and is valued at €8million. Current employers Motherwell would likely enter into negotiations for approximately €11.5m.

It’s unknown whether the Scottish Premiership side would accept a lower, up front fee with the rest coming in add-ons or bonuses. However, it looks a certainty that Miller will be the Well’s record sale.

That honor currently belongs to David Turnbull who moved to Celtic in 2020 for €3.7m. Jens Berthel Askou’s men will hold the upper hand when it comes to talks owing to the vast interest in Lennon.

The central midfielder – who can also play in an attacking and defensive role – was left out of the roster who drew with Rangers on the weekend.

That in itself highlights that an exit is close. A hugely exciting talent, Miller looks set to move to Italy this summer. However, he must decide which club is best for his long-term progression.
