Antonio Conte has been nominated for the Team Coach of the Year trophy at the upcoming 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.
The Coach of the Year trophy – also known as the Cruyff Trophy – is arguably the most prestigious individual honor a soccer manager can win throughout their career.
Conte has never won but he has been named as the Serie A Coach of the Year on four occasions. His last success came for his efforts in guiding Inter to the Scudetto in 2020-21.
Throughout Thursday, France Football is announcing all of the nominees for every category in the men and women’s games. They include the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
All winners will be announced at the ceremony on September 22. The event will be held at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.

What Did Antonio Conte Win In 2024-25?
In his maiden season at Napoli, Antonio Conte went on to win the 2024-25 Serie A title. Offshore sportsbooks price the Azzurri as +188 favorites to retain the Scudetto this season.
Conte’s charges went toe-to-toe with Inter for much of the season. It wasn’t until MD38 when the Italian boss finally got his reward.
Going into the final day with a one point lead over the Nerazzurri, goals from Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku vs Cagliari sealed Napoli’s second league win in the last three seasons.
Conte also won two Serie A Coach of the Month awards in 2024-25. He was also named as Serie A’s Most Valuable Coach. It’s also likely the 56-year-old will win the 2024-25 Serie A Coach of the Year award.

Who Are The Other 2025 Men’s Team Coach Of The Year Nominees
Antonio Conte has plenty of competition for the 2025 Cruyff Trophy. Fellow Italian boss Enzo Maresca has been nominated after guiding Chelsea to the FIFA Club World Cup title this summer.
The favorite to win is PSG’s Luis Enrique. The Spaniard completed a historic treble and landed the French club’s maiden Champions League title.
Also in the mix is Liverpool’s Arne Slot. Similar to Conte, he won the English league in his first ever season on Merseyside. Barcelona’s Hansi Flick is the fifth and final nomination. He won LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana.

Is Scott McTominay Nominated For The 2025 Ballon d’Or?
On Wednesday, it was reported that Scott McTominay had been nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or. The Scottish star has been officially included alongside 29 other contenders.
Unsurprisingly, the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Mo Salah, Ousmane Dembele and Kylian Mbappe have all been nominated as well.
McTominay only joined Napoli last summer but has been a revelation in Naples. The 28-year-old midfielder was named as the Serie A MVP after helping the Azzurri to the Scudetto.
He scored 16 times across 48 appearances across all competitions. His transition from bit-part player at Man United to a superstar in Italy has surprised a number of soccer fans.
Although not a leading contender to win the Ballon d’Or, it is fully deserved to receive a nomination. Naturally, McTominay and Conte will be thrilled to be in the reckoning in their respective categories.
