According to the latest Inter Milan injury update, only Davide Frattesi will be unavailable for Saturday’s pre-season clash vs Olympiacos.

The Nerazzurri will entertain the Greek champions at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari on Saturday. So far, Christian Chivu’s side has won both of their friendly clashes.

With that said, they actually drew 2-2 with Monza last time out but overcame the Serie B side on penalties. Last week, goals from Lautaro Martinez and Ange-Yoan Bonny clinched a 2-1 win against Monaco.

Inter Milan Injury Update

On Monday, it was reported that Yann Bisseck was set to return for Inter Milan against Monza in the friendly clash. The same applied to Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

However, both players didn’t feature as Cristian Chivu thought it was better not to risk them. Now, the Romanian head coach will likely give both players vital minutes against Olympiacos on Saturday.

Especially with the 2025-26 Serie A opener against Torino just around the corner. Bisseck and Zielinski have missed the entirety of pre-season so getting back on the field is a necessity.

Davide Frattesi’s Injury

After entering Inter Milan folklore by scoring winning Champions League goals against Bayern Munich and Barcelona last season, Davide Frattesi has been plagued with an abdominal injury.

In fact, Frattesi hasn’t featured for Inter since scoring the decisive semi-final goal in the 4-3 win over the Spanish giants back in April. Last month, he underwent surgery to correct the problem.

It was hoped that the Azzurri international would be available for the friendly match against Olympiacos. Nonetheless, Cristian Chivu will be hoping he is fit for MD1 of the new season.

If that is the case, it’s likely that Chivu won’t rush him straight back into action. Building up match sharpness via substitute appearances throughout August and September is the likeliest method.

Davide Frattesi Transfer News

Over the summer, much has been made of Davide Frattesi’s long term future at Inter Milan. The midfield ace has been strongly linked with a move away from the club.

If former head coach Simone Inzaghi stayed at the San Siro, it’s likely that Frattesi would already be playing elsewhere. Under Cristian Chivu, it appears that the 25-year-old will be given another chance to prove himself.

Naturally, Frattesi wants to be a regular in the starting XI and not used as a substitute when fully fit. If Chivu adopts a 3-4-2-1 formation, Frattesi would be given a more prominent role.

It has also been reported that Frattesi is going to be offered a new contract with the Nerazzurri. With interest in the dynamic star plentiful from a number of clubs all around Europe, last season’s runners-up need to move quickly.
