The latest Ivan Azon transfer news has revealed that the Como forward is close to completing his loan switch to Ipswich Town.

Azon didn’t feature at all for Cesc Fabregas’s side last season after joining from Zaragoza in February. Injury blighted his first-team chances so Fabregas has decided to allow the temporary switch, despite wanting to keep him at the Sinigaglia.

I wanted to keep Ivan Azon but this morning he went on a trip to Ipswich,” the Spanish boss said ahead of the Biancoblu’s Coppa Italia clash vs Sudtirol.

Ivan Azon Transfer News

On Thursday, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano revealed that Como and Ipswich were close to agreeing a loan deal for Spaniard Ivan Azon.

Azon will move to Portman Road for the 2025-26 season for an initial €2million fee. The Tractor Boys have an obligation to buy if promotion back to the Premier League is achieved.

Alvaro Morata has already been signed from Milan after he blasted former club Galatasaray. That helped pave the way for Como to allow Azon to transfer to England.

Overall, Cesc Fabregas’ side have drafted 11 players in to the club this summer. Morata was the most recent who will move to the Sinigaglia on an initial loan deal.

Ivan Azon Career Goals

Throughout his entire professional career, Ivan Azon has scored a total of 29 goals from 155 appearances. The 22-year-old has also chipped in with 12 assists.

All of those goal contributions came during his time with LaLiga 2 side Zaragoza. Last season was his most prosperous in front of goal. Azon scored eight times in 25 outings.

The Spanish U21 forward will now have the chance to test himself in England’s second tier with Ipswich. The Tractor Boys also drafted fellow Serie A player Jens Cajuste from Napoli earlier this month.

Will Ivan Azon Leave Como Permanently?

As per the terms of Ivan Azon’s loan deal, it’s possible that the Spaniard will leave Como permanently next summer. The main factor that hinges on that outcome is Ipswich’s final league position.

If Kieran McKenna’s side earns promotion to the English top-flight, an obligation to buy is in place for approximately €10-12m. That will give Cesc Fabregas’ side a tidy profit on the original €3m they played earlier this year.

However, if the Tractor Boys don’t secure a place in the Premier League for 2026-27, a return to Italy is almost a certainty before Azon’s long-term future is decided.
