With a new Christian Pulisic contract being mooted, will the USMNT star commit his long term future to Milan?
Pulisic was one of Serie A’s finest players last term and shined for the Rossoneri despite their struggles. The 26-year-old scored 17 goals in all competitions and chipped in with 12 assists.
This season, ‘Captain America‘ already has two goals to his name. He scored against Bari in the Coppa Italia and against Lecce in the MD2 league clash.
Christian Pulisic Contract – Will He Extend Milan Stay?
With Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan likely to quit the club upon the expiry of his contract next June, the Rossoneri will not want the same outcome with Christian Pulisic.
Pulisic’s current deal runs out in the summer of 2027. However, the Serie A giants are keen to tie down the USMNT until at least 2029.
According to Calciomercato, talks have come to a standstill in recent months but the club’s hierarchy remain confident that Pulisic will commit his long-term future and pen a new deal.
A top four finish this season will likely be the deciding factor from Pulisic’s perspective. Missing out on Champions League soccer again could be hugely damaging as the American will likely consider his options.
Christian Pulisic Salary
As it stands, the current Christian Pulisic salary sees the Milan star earn €97,360 per week. That equates to an annual figure of just over €5m.
In terms of the Rossoneri’s highest earners, the USMNT takes fifth spot. Unsurprisingly, Rafael Leao pockets the most out of the current Milan crop (€121,652).
If Pulisic was to pen new terms, he would want to be at least on par with his Portuguese team-mate. Especially as the former has flourished in Milan since joining from Chelsea in 2023.
In fact, both stars could and perhaps should be earning at least a basic salary of €150,000+ in today’s market. Other suitors across Europe would certainly be able to offer such terms.
Christian Pulisic Milan Stats
Since making the switch from the English Premier League to Serie A two years ago, Christian Pulisic has revitalized his pro soccer career.
At Chelsea, Pulisic found it hard to break into the regular starting XI. Some could argue he began to stagnate but the move to Milan has worked wonders.
According to TransferMarkt, Pulisic has represented the Rossoneri 103 times and netted an impressive 34 goals. He has also provided 23 assists.
Such a positive return in his two full seasons at the San Siro have accelerated talks of a new contract. If the Italian giants want to get back to their glory days, keeping Pulisic on board is absolutely vital.
