Ahead of Tuesday’s MD2 UCL clash, FootItalia has the Atalanta vs Club Brugge preview, prediction, betting tips, odds and more.

Atalanta Vs Club Brugge Preview

Atalanta will be hoping to banish the memories of their MD1 bruising against reigning champions PSG. The Serie A side succumbed to a 4-0 loss in Paris with former Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia amongst the scorers.

On September 30, La Dea will be hoping for better fortunes on home turf. The Bergamo-based side will take on Club Brugge for the second consecutive UCL season.

In the 2024-25 campaign, under the guidance of Gian Piero Gasperini, Atalanta were easily beaten 5-2 by the Belgians in the play-off round.

Now under the stewardship of Ivan Juric, the Italians will be hoping to finish in the top eight to secure their place in the round of 16 next year.

Domestically, Juric has led his side to sixth in the standings and is yet to taste defeat. Last time out against Juventus in Turin, the spoils were shared in a 1-1 draw. Kamaldeen Sulemana scored for the visitors who also had Martin de Roon dismissed.

As for Club Brugge, they’ve enjoyed an excellent start to the 2025-26 Champions League. On MD1, the Belgians crushed Monaco 4-1 at the Jan Breydelstadion.

Italian-born forward Nicolo Tresoldi was among the scorers. The Germany Under 21 international only joined Brugge in the summer and has already notched twice for Nicky Hayen’s side.

On their last visit to the Stadio di Bergamo, a Chemsdine Talbi scored a brace in a fine 3-1 win. Something of which the Belgians will be happy to replicate on Tuesday.

Atalanta Vs Club Brugge Team News And Predicted Lineups

Having been slowly reintegrated into the squad, a new Ademola Lookman Atalanta contract has been discussed after his transfer saga earlier this summer.

The hat-trick hero from the 2023-24 Europa League final will likely start on the bench. However, Ivan Juric has hinted he will feature at the Stadio di Bergamo.

On the injury front, La Dea will still be without Giorgio Scalvini, Isak Hien, Nicola Zalewski, Gianluca Scamacca, Sead Kolasinac and Mitchel Bakker. Defensive midfielder Ederson is in line to feature having recovered from an inflammation of his meniscus.

Meanwhile, Club Brugge’s only absentees are Raphael Onyedika and goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. The duo have suffered a hamstring injury and groin strain.

In attack, Nicolo Tresoldi is expected to lead the line. The summer signing from Hannover 96 is yet to score domestically but has notched twice in the UCL this season.

Atalanta predicted lineup: Carnesecchi; Kossounou, Djimsiti, Ahanor; Bellanova, De Roon, Pasalic, Zappacosta; De Ketelaere, Sulemana; Krstovic

Club Brugge predicted lineup: Jackers; Sabbe, Ordonez, Mechele, Meijer; Stankovic, Vanaken; Forbs, Sandra, Tzolis; Tresoldi

Atalanta Vs Club Brugge Prediction

Atalanta will be gunning for revenge after their play-off defeat to Club Brugge last season. Both sides have goals in their ranks but the Italians should just about shade this encounter.

Prediction: Atalanta 3-2 Club Brugge

Atalanta Vs Club Brugge Betting Tips

🔎 Atalanta vs Club Brugge betting tip 1: Nikola Krstovic to score anytime at +138

Nikola Krstovic has made a solid start to life in Bergamo after joining from Lecce in the summer. The Montenegro international has two goals and three assists in Serie A already this season. Thus doing his utmost to fill the void left by Mateo Retegui.

🔎 Atalanta vs Club Brugge betting tip 2: Over 4.5 goals at +340

As per our prediction, both sides have goals in them which was evident when they met over two-legs in the play-off round last season. Expect that trend to continue in Bergamo as both clubs also have leaky defences.
