Christian Pulisic is yet to sign a new deal with the Rossoneri and the USMNT star may have a decision to make after a falling out between Milan and Mauricio Pochettino over the American’s recent injury.

Christian Pulisic Injury Update

The USMNT star has missed AC Milan’s last two Serie A fixtures after picking up a thigh injury with his national side in the early stages of October and has now been ruled out for a further two weeks.

Massimiliano Allegri revealed in a recent press conference that Pulisic will be unavailable for the Rossoneri’s upcoming league encounters against Atalanta and Roma.

However, the Rossoneri boss expects the USMNT player to be in the matchday squad for Milan’s trip to Parma on November 8th, with hopes of replicating the form he showed in the early stages of the season.

The 27-year-old contributed to six goals in as many Serie A appearances (4G + 2A), which included a goal and assist against Napoli alongside a brace against Udinese.

Rafael Leao has stepped-up in Pulisic’s absence, scoring three goals in his last two league appearances, but the 26-year-old has attracted interest from La Liga.

Will Christian Pulisic Sign New AC Milan Contract?

One of the biggest talking points in Milan’s season so far has been the ongoing saga around Christian Pulisic’s deal, as the USMNT will be out of contract in June 2027.

The United States international is said to be earning around €98,000 per week, making him the fifth-highest paid player at the club and behind the likes of Christopher Nkunku, Adrien Rabiot, Luka Modric, Rafael Leao and Youssouf Fofana.

Given his performances in the last two seasons, Pulisic will be looking to move up this list and become the highest paid player at the Rossoneri – especially as several clubs are reportedly interested in the USMNT star.

Negotiations over a new deal began at the start of the season after Pulisic contributed to 29 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions last year (17G + 12A) – but no agreement has been met.

Pulisic’s deal does have the option for another year, but the American is keen on obtaining a pay-rise before committing to the Serie A side and is expected to sign a fresh contract before 2026.

Would Pulisic Move To MLS in 2026?

Surprisingly, Christian Pulisic has not played a single minute in Major League Soccer, as the USMNT moved over to Germany at just 15-years-old.

The AC Milan star has been vocal about competing in his home nation’s elite soccer league and would be open to a move to the United States before retiring from the sport.

Growing up Pulisic played for an amateur side in Michigan, however, there is no MLS side within the state so he cannot return to where his journey began.

Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Toronto FC are three of the closest teams to Michigan, which could make a move tempting to the USMNT player.

Another option could be a move to Philadelphia Union, as the MLS side are located in Pennsylvania – the state that Pulisic was born and raised within.

Philadelphia Union are also one of the best teams in North America at this current moment in time, finishing first in the Eastern Conference and winning their opening play-off match against Chicago Fire.

There have also been talks over a possible move to Saudi Arabia, however, Pulisic is reportedly only considering a European exit if it brings a return to the United States.

Will AC Milan Let Pulisic Play For USMNT In November?

There is another factor to consider when discussing Pulisic’s future with AC Milan, as the Rossoneri have been involved in a recent dispute with the United States national team.

Pulisic joined up with his national side during their latest international camp and was believed to be carrying a slight ankle injury, meaning the Rossoneri were hoping to avoid any further damage.

Mauricio Pochettino brought Pulisic on for 18 minutes during the USA’s 1-1 draw with Ecuador, before starting the AC Milan star against Australia just four-days later.

Pulisic was forced off after just 30 minutes after a knock to the thigh, which reportedly infuriated the AC Milan manager and board, creating a rift between the club and country.

The Rossoneri will be wanting Pulisic at full-fitness for the majority of the season, not only because of his performances, but also because of Pulisic’s commercial value.

Allegri’s side are set to face Como in Perth, Australia at the beginning of 2026 and AC Milan could make a large sum of money from the trip, which will only be boosted by Pulisic’s availability.

This means that Milan are reportedly unwilling to let Pulisic compete for the USMNT side in their next set of fixtures, which are set to take place from November 11th-19th.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side face Paraguay and Uruguay in a set of international friendlies, with the primary aim being to build some chemistry ahead of next year’s World Cup.
