Joaquin Panichelli is currently the leading goal-scorer in Ligue 1 and the young Argentinian has now attracted interest from Serie A.

The 23-year-old has been causing quite the stir in France during the 2025/26 season so far, as Panichelli sits top of the Ligue 1 goal-scoring charts with nine goals in 11 appearances.

Many were skeptical after Strasbourg signed the youngster for €16.5 million in July 2025, but Panichelli’s performances this season have silenced these critics.

Panichelli earned his move to France after an impressive 2024/25 season with LaLiga 2 side, CD Mirandes, which saw the Argentine contribute to 29 goals in 44 appearances (20G + 9A).

The 23-year-old moved to Europe in January 2023 after working his way through the ranks in Argentina and making 12 appearances for River Plate II.

Panichelli joined Alaves in January 2023 and earned a place in the senior side just over a year later, but failed to cement a place in the staring eleven.

His form for Strasbourg in the 2025/26 season so far has seen a monstrous rise in recent weeks, as Panichelli has scored six goals in his last five Ligue 1 appearances.

Alongside a stellar league campaign, Panichelli has also been prolific on the European stage so far, scoring one goal in just 28 minutes of Europa Conference League action.

Putting in such a strong performance has seen Panichelli linked with a move to Italy and multiple sides are reportedly monitoring his situation in France.

Which Serie A Sides Should Sign Joaquin Panichelli?

Panichelli will be on a host of teams’ wish-list in 2026, whether that’s in the January or summer window and two Serie A sides have been heavily linked with the Argentine.

Roma are one side that could make a move for the 23-year-old and the Giallorossi have enjoyed a strong start to the 2025/26 season so far, as Roma sit fourth in the table after picking-up 21 points from the opening 10 matches.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side were narrowly defeated by AC Milan in their latest league encounter and highlighted a key issue for Roma this season – a lack of goals.

Roma have scored just 10 league goals this season, which is less than every team in the top 14 of the Serie A table and is a problem that Gasperini is looking to address.

During the summer transfer window, the Giallorossi signed Evan Ferguson on loan, but the Irishman has struggled in Serie A and is yet to score in Italy’s top division.

Another Italian side that has been linked with Panichelli is AC Milan, as the Rossoneri are also on the hunt for a new talisman – after Santiago Gimenez’s poor spell in Milan.

The Rossoneri’s primary source of goals, Christian Pulisic is currently out of action with injury and the burden has fallen on the shoulders of Rafael Leao.

Both Leao and Pulisic have been linked with moves away, which would force Milan into signing a star attacker during the 2026 summer transfer window.

Joaquin Panichelli’s agent has recently commented on the Argentine’s future and highlighted Milan as a club that has shown interest – even before the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old is under contract until June 2030 and any interested party could face a difficult battle for Panichelli’s signature as Chelsea will be favorites to sign the striker due to Todd Boehly’s hold on both clubs.
