Fiorentina Open To Moise Kean Departure As Italian International Continues Poor Start To 2025/26 Season
Moise Kean could be on his way out of Florence as La Viola remain unimpressed by the Italian this season.
Fiorentina are reportedly open to the sale of Moise Kean in 2026, as the 25-year-old has failed to find form in Serie A this season.
Fiorentina Open To Moise Kean Sale
Moise Kean has struggled to find form during the 2025/26 campaign after finishing second in the Serie A goal-scoring ranks last season and the Italian could be on the move in January.
La Viola have been one of the surprises of the season in Serie A, sitting second from bottom and failing to win a single match in Italy’s top division.
Fiorentina’s struggles have been echoed by Moise Kean’s performances in Florence so far, as the former Juventus star has contributed to just three goals in 11 appearances (2G + 1A).
This is a vast drop from the Italian’s record at this stage last season, as Kean accumulated nine goal contributions in 11 Serie A outings (8G + 1A) and La Viola had suffered just one defeat.
The Serie A side have already seen a major change this season, as Stefano Pioli was made surplus to requirements on November 4th following a run of poor results and Paolo Vanoli has been handed the task of turning Fiorentina’s season around.
Luciano Spalletti, who recently made headlines for offering to help Azzurri manager Gennaro Gattuso, was linked with the managerial role in Florence but the Italian decided to take the reins at Juventus.
Vanoli has made a steady start to his time in Florence, drawing both of his opening matches so far and the Italian is yet to get the best out of Kean.
The Italian striker agreed a new deal with Fiorentina during the recent summer transfer window, as La Viola looked to fend off any interested parties.
Manchester United, Bayern Munich and multiple Saudi Pro League sides were linked with the Italian international, but a move failed to materialize.
This interest may have cooled down after Kean’s poor start to the season, however, this disappointing display may also push Fiorentina into accepting a lower fee in 2026.
Kean’s recent deal included a change to his release clause with Fiorentina, which could play a pivotal role in the 25-year-old’s future in Serie A.
Several Sides Consider Moise Kean Release Clause
During the recent summer transfer window, Kean had a release clause of €52 million, but this fee was only available between July 1st and July 15th.
Kean’s new contract with La Viola has seen this rise to €62m, being active for the same period in 2026 – but the Italian’s performances this season have not lived-up to such a price tag.
Fiorentina increased Kean’s value after a strong 2024/25 campaign, but recent displays mean that La Viola could enter negotiations with an interested party and accept a lower fee than the €62m clause.
The 25-year-old is also at risk of losing his place in the Azzurri national team, as Italy prepare for their World Cup 2026 playoff clash against Northern Ireland.
Finding a move in the January window could spark Kean back into life, helping his chances of featuring at the 2026 tournament – provided the Azzurri qualify.
However, Manchester United are unlikely to spend over €50m on a striker in 2026, as the Red Devils bolstered their front-line with Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo last summer.
Bayern Munich were also interested in the Italian striker last summer, but the Bundesliga side have made a superb start to the season and brought in Nicolas Jackson to act as a substitute option behind Harry Kane.
Another possibility is a move to Turkey, as Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are both reportedly interested in the Fiorentina star – but would be unwilling to trigger Kean’s release clause.
As previously mentioned, Fiorentina may be willing to accept a lower fee for the Italian next year if performances do not improve, but the Serie A side are still looking for over €50m.
