Leon Goretzka On Juventus’ Radar As Bianconeri Plot Midfield Overhaul
The Old Lady are interested in the DFB star.
Juventus are keeping tabs on Leon Goretzka with the German international set to leave Bayern Munich in the summer.
Goretzka is expected to quit the Allianz Arena upon the expiry of his contract in June 2026. The 30-year-old has been with the Bavarian’s since 2018.
During his eight seasons in Munich, Goretzka has won six Bundesliga titles. He was also part of the roster who won the Champions League in 2020.
Leon Goretzka Transfer News
Last month, Napoli considered Leon Goretzka as a potential Kevin De Bruyne replacement. The German international is still on Antonio Conte’s shortlist but Juventus are showing more intent currently.
Luciano Spalletti is keen to beef up his midfield options and considers Goretzka as a prime candidate. Especially as the Germany international offers a wealth of experience and has won numerous major trophies.
Spalletti would be more than happy to bring Goretzka in next month. However, Bayern Munich doesn’t want to lose the 30-year-old star midway through the season.
Even though Goretzka is earning plenty of minutes under head coach Vincent Kompany, the former Belgium hero wants to opt for younger players and plans a mini-overhaul in the middle of the park over the summer.
As it stands, the Partenopei and Juve are the front-runners for Goretzka’s signature. Others are expected to join the race but the Bianconeri remain confident they can convince him his immediate future lies in Turin.
Juventus Transfer Targets
Currently languishing in seventh position in Serie A, it’s clear that Juventus are going to be extremely active in the winter and summer transfer windows.
Leon Goretzka is a prime candidate to draft in alongside a number of other top stars. They include the likes of Mason Mount, Sergio Ramos and Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.
However, Strand Larsen is seen as a more viable option for January. The same can be said of Ramos as well but other summer targets include Sporting Lisbon’s Morten Hjulmand and Mike Maignan.
Even if the Bianconeri do entertain a stronger second-half to the campaign, head coach Luciano Spalletti will be working tirelessly to carve out a squad that will be feared all over Europe.
Will Leon Goretzka Stay At Bayern Munich?
As it stands, it appears that Leon Goretzka will not sign a new deal with Bayern Munich. Ironically, he ran down his Schalke deal before joining Bayern on a free seven years ago.
It’s very likely that history will once again repeat itself. According to Bild, Bayern are not prepared to offer new terms so Goretzka can start casting his eye over new employment.
In fact, Juventus can open negotiations with the 30-year-old in the new year. Something of which will prove hugely beneficial in their quest to sign the 15-time major trophy winner.
For now, the Serie A giants will continue to closely monitor Goretzka to make sure they have the best possible chance of beating their rivals to his signature.
