Mohamed Salah Breaks Silence On Liverpool Axe As Inter Milan Boss Reacts
The superstar was dropped after his incendiary comments at the weekend.
Mohamed Salah has posted a cryptic message on social media after being dropped by Liverpool for tonight’s Champions League showdown against Inter Milan.
Mohamed Salah’s Social Media Post
Salah was left at home in the wake of his bombshell interview after the 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Saturday.
He claimed he had been “thrown under the bus” and revealed his relationship with Arne Slot had broken down.
While his team-mates flew out to Milan on Monday night, Salah trained alone at Liverpool’s Kirkby base.
Taking to X on Tuesday morning, the 33-year-old posted a photo of himself in the gym, likely aware that his explosive comments have thrown his future at Anfield into serious doubt.
Slot admitted he had “no clue” whether Salah would play for the Reds again, and the Egyptian will shortly join up with his international team-mates ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.
He is set to leave for the tournament after this weekend’s match against Brighton.

Cristian Chivu Responds To Mohamed Salah Row
The bust-up came as a timely boost for Inter, but boss Cristian Chivu insisted the problem was not his concern.
“We all know what he represents for Liverpool and for the world of football,” Chivu told reporters. “I don’t talk about other teams’ problems. We also have our own issues and questions to answer. It’s not my concern.
“I know they have players who can replace him and that Liverpool, as always, will maintain a high level. We are talking about teams, not individuals.”
Chivu also believes Inter deserve more credit for carrying the Italian flag in the Champions League, having seen the club reach the final of the prestigious tournament twice in the last three years.
He added: “An Italian team that plays like that deserves some praise, apart from the final result.”
With Diego Simeone keen on the Inter job, Chivu is under pressure to steer his side through to the knockouts.
What’s next for Mohamed Salah?
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Salah’s reaction to being benched against Leeds was a “disgrace”, claiming it was carefully choreographed with his agent to ramp up the pressure on Slot.
By leaving him on Merseyside, the club threw their weight behind the manager instead of the superstar.
Salah has scored just four goals in his 13 Premier League appearances this season, but he remains a mercurial talent. As such, interest from Saudi Arabia could be rekindled in January, though he is under contract until 2027.
