The Italian Super Cup will begin in Saudi Arabia this week and a staggering prize pot is up for grabs.

Italian Super Cup Prize Pool Worth Over €23m

Inter Milan, AC Milan, Napoli and Bologna will all jet out to Riyadh over the coming days as they bid to get their hands on the coveted trophy – and the riches that come with it.

Formerly a traditional showdown between the winners of Serie A and the Coppa Italia, the tournament was expanded to four teams.

All the games will take place at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium, with Scudetto champions Napoli up first against AC Milan on December 18. Then, Bologna will take on Inter Milan the following day.

The two winners will go head-to-head in the final on Monday, December 22.

According to Calcio e Finanza, the Super Cup prize pot for 2025 will once again be worth over €23 million. This will be distributed between all four participating clubs and across the wider Serie A.

The exact figure is still subject to change, depending on the sale of television rights.

It has been revealed that the losing semi-finalists will each pocket €2.4m, while the losing finalist will bank €6.7m.

The winner will land a windfall worth €9.5m, plus a further €1.5m to play against the Saudi Super Cup winner.

Finally, €2m will be evenly distributed among the rest of the Serie A teams not in Riyadh.

As reported by FootItalia, whether Napoli win the cup or not will determine Antonio Conte’s future at the club.

Where The 2026 Italian Super Cup Could Be Held

Organisers are already hard at work on finalising a venue for next year, as per Corriere dello Sport.

Serie A bigwigs had signed a deal with the Saudis that means the tournament must again take place in the Gulf state by 2028, but the exact year was not stipulated.

Theoretically, this means it could shift to two other countries before potentially returning to Riyadh.

It has been suggested that the Super Cup could move to the United States for 2026, several months after the conclusion of the World Cup. However, it has also not been ruled out that it could take place in its native Italy.

Who Won The Italian Super Cup In 2025?

AC Milan are the current holders, courtesy of a pulsating 3-2 victory against Inter Milan in Riyadh back in January.

Inter had led by two goals after Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi netted, before their arch rivals hit back.

Theo Hernandez halved the deficit and Christian Pulisic levelled the scores on 80 minutes, setting up a grandstand finish. Deep inside stoppage time, Tammy Abraham duly delivered for Sergio Conceicao’s side.

This year, they will be bolstered by Rafael Leao’s return to fitness.
