Lazio’s Christos Mandas On Juventus Radar As Mattia Perin Weighs Next Move

Juventus are eyeing Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas as a potential replacement for Mattia Perin, according to reports.

With the January transfer window approaching, Juventus could find themselves losing Perin to a Serie A rival.
Perin is currently second-choice behind Michele Di Gregorio, and has only made four appearances all season.
The 33-year-old’s Juve contract runs until 2027, but there’s a good chance he could leave before then.
Perin, who is looking for more game time, is tempted by a return to former club Genoa, according to Tuttosport.
Juventus would apparently only let him leave if a “worthy” alternative arrives, with Carlo Pinsoglio currently injured.
That is where Mandas comes into the picture.

Along with Tuttosport’s coverage of the situation, Alfredo Pedulla has also reported that Juve are fans of Mandas.
He has claimed on his official website that the Bianconeri have ‘studied his profile and highly value him’.
Lazio reportedly want more than €15million plus add-ons if they are to let Mandas leave.
Italian outlets also describe a possible merry-go-round involving Genoa and keeper Nicola Leali, should Lazio need cover.
Why Christos Mandas appeals to Juventus
Mandas is valued for athletic shot-stopping and comfort with the ball, attributes Juventus prioritise in their build-up.
He is also young enough to develop, yet experienced in Serie A pressure, which matters for a club chasing trophies.
Lazio strengthened their negotiating position in March by extending Mandas’ contract to June 2029, making any deal expensive.
While Juve can afford to be patient regarding Mandas himself, the Perin situation risks becoming urgent.

They must decide whether keep an elite deputy whose contract expires in 18 months’ time, or cash in and bring in someone new.
Mandas, in that context, looks like he would be a strategic signing, rather than a stop-gap, providing Lazio’s price is negotiable.
Until Perin’s situation is clearer, Juventus’ interest remains conditional, but the first calls suggest planning is underway.
