Sarri complaint as Lazio already on case for Guendouzi alternative
Guendouzi’s Lazio swansong came on Wednesday night as he played the full 90 minutes against Fiorentina.
He delivered a solid performance in the 2-2 draw which yielded sixes and sevens across the board.
However, the big talking point of the game – besides the refereeing – came in the form of Maurizio Sarri’s post-match comments.
He claimed managing Lazio was harder than he expected and bemoaned their lack of financial muscle.
“I honestly thought Guendouzi was one of the seven or eight players we could use to build the future of Lazio,” Sarri admitted.
“We are a club who cannot offer the same salaries as these other sides who come along. So I understand there are certain difficulties.”
However, Lazio are on the case already with regards to an alternative for Guendouzi.
Lazio want Ajax’s Kenneth Taylor and, according to reports relayed by Footitalia, a deal may well be imminent.
