Elkann wants Marotta and Del Piero

Corriere dello Sport claim that Juventus want to bring Beppe Marotta back to the club as well as appointing Alessandro Del Piero as a director. The Old Lady are in the process of a managerial rebuild following the resignation of Andrea Agnelli and the ownership are expected to finalise new appointments in the coming months.

Il Corriere write  that Exor chairman John Elkann is keen to bring Marotta back to Turin, despite his having joined Inter in the interim. The report outlines that Marotta is doing well at Inter, but those who know him well describe him as ‘exhausted’ by jumping through many hoops to ensure the competitiveness of the team. The suggestion is that the former Juve man is tired of the financial difficulties of the Suning Group and could be open to a return to Juventus in the near future.

Alongside Marotta, Elkann is keen to bring Del Piero back to the club, potentially in a directors role, given his long standing attachment to the Old Lady and his history with the Bianconeri.

For now, coach Max Allegri is safe in his role as he still has two years left on his contract and has never thought of leaving the club, but Juve may look to Spurs coach Antonio Conte as a potential replacement next summer, should he fail to renew his deal with the North London club.

Finally, the report claims that Juve are not overly concerned by the newly opened UEFA investigationafter the arrival of the papers sent by the FIGC. The suggestion is that the president of European football, Aleksander Ceferin has already got what he was looking for: The ‘head’ of his former friend, Andrea Agnelli.
