Inter Milan Consider Lautaro Martinez Sale After Another Disappointing Display In Europe

Lautaro Martinez has seen his future at Inter Milan be called into question once again as the Argentine was substituted in the 63rd minute against Arsenal.

Arsenal Trump Inter As Martinez Struggles 

After a disappointing display against the Premier League side, Lautaro Martinez made way for Pio Esposito.

The Nerazzurri made a disappointing start to the match, as Arsenal took the lead through Gabriel Jesus after just 10-minutes.

Jesus, who has recently been linked with a move to Inter, flicked the ball into the back of the net after an impressive move from the Gunners.

However, Inter’s disappointment was short-lived as the hosts found an equalizer just eight-minutes later through a Petar Sucic rocket.

The Croatian smashed the ball into the top right corner from just outside of the area and highlighted why Cristian Chivu handed him a start in such a crucial match.

Arsenal regained their lead on the half-an-hour mark, as Gabriel Jesus bagged his second of the game with a smart header past Yann Sommer.

Inter had a chance to level things going into the break through Federico Dimarco, but the Italian’s effort was kept out superbly by David Raya.

Cristian Chivu’s side failed to create many chances in the opening stages of the first-half, which forced the Inter manager into some key changes.

Esposito’s inclusion was almost rewarded instantly as the youngster saw his effort whistle past the post and spring some life into the San Siro.

However, it was Arsenal that landed the crushing blow as Viktor Gyokeres came off the bench and found the top-right corner to seal the points for Mikel Artetsa’s side.

The Argentine has been Inter’s talisman once again during the 2025/26 campaign, as Martinez sits top of the Serie A goal-scoring ranks with 11 goals.

However, Martinez’s performances in big matches has been called into question and his display against Arsenal amplified these concerns even more.

The 28-year-old failed to score against Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan and Roma in Serie A this season – while also missing the mark against Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and now Arsenal.

Cristian Chivu has been unimpressed by Martinez’s performances in big matches and the Inter boss is reportedly looking to bring in a new talisman.

The Nerazzurri have joined the race for Nico Paz as the Argentinian youngster continues to impress with Como this season.

Although Paz plays a different position to his international teammate, Inter believe the Como star can replace Martinez as the main supply of goals.

Martinez still has three-years remaining on his current deal, but Inter would be willing to consider any bid at around €90million and the Argentine has attracted interest from Barcelona.

The Spanish side are considering a move for Martinez after the 2026 World Cup, which could see Robert Lewandowski head to Italy.
