Chelsea Among Three New Clubs In Douglas Luiz Chase As Juventus Set Transfer Price Tag
Juventus need to find a solution for Douglas Luiz as his Nottingham Forest loan spell risks ending prematurely.
Chelsea are one of several clubs tracking Douglas Luiz as Juventus consider a transfer exit route for the Brazilian midfielder.
The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, but his future at the English Premier League club is uncertain.
Nicolo Schira says Chelsea, who are owned by American businessman Todd Boehly, are now in the picture for Luiz.
Dutch giants Ajax and Brazilian side Vasco da Gama have also joined Chelsea as fresh suitors.
Juventus, however, are said to want a full deal worth €28.5m in total, rather than an easy cut-price exit.
Juventus demand €28.5m package for Douglas Luiz as interest builds
Nottingham Forest signed Douglas Luiz on a season-long loan from Juventus last summer, with a clause that can turn the deal permanent.
However, this clause is dependant on appearances. Forest must buy Luiz if he plays at least 45 minutes in 15 Premier League games.
This clause could be why Luiz is being benched, with suggestions he has been frozen out to avoid triggering it.
With neither Forest nor Juventus planning to give Luiz considerable game time, a January exit beckons.
And according to Nicolo Schira, Luiz is now on the radar of Chelsea, Vasco Da Gama and Ajax along with Aston Villa.
Juventus want a permanent deal consisting of a loan with obligation to buy for a total of €28.5m, added the Italian journalist.
#Chelsea, #VascoDaGama, #Ajax and #AstonVilla have shown interest in #Juventus’ midfielder #DouglasLuiz, who could leave #NottinghamForest in January’s transfer window. #Juve ask a permanent deal (loan + obligation to buy) for a total package of €28,5M. #transfers https://t.co/U6ih249cQ2

Uncertainty over Aston Villa interest in Luiz
While Nicolo Schira has reported that Aston Villa are still in the picture for Douglas Luiz, Fabrizio Romano has claimed otherwise.
The Italian transfer expert has reported that Villa are ‘not proceeding’ for Luiz.
Romano also claimed that Chelsea are only considering a straight loan or loan with option to buy.
This would put them at loggerheads with Juventus’ demands for a loan with obligation to buy, as Schira reported.
🚨🇧🇷 Chelsea are only interested in a loan deal for Douglas Luiz, no obligation to buy element compared to current Forest deal.
Aston Villa are not proceeding; #CFC are interested but only loan/loan with option not mandatory.

Juventus don’t seem to have all that much leverage for Luiz at present. Therefore, they might have to compromise for a solution.
