A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests there are doubts about Romelu Lukaku’s future at Inter. The striker has been struggling for form following a string of injuries that have limited his playing time for the Nerazzurri.
Lukaku is set to miss this evenings Coppa Italia match with Parma due to a new tendon issue that could keep him out of action for at least a week.
His current training program includes physiotherapy, work in the swimming pool and exercise bike, at least until tomorrow, without working on the pitch. Between Thursday and Friday, coach Simone Inzaghi and the medical staff plan to put him back on the field, at least for some athletic work, to prevent the Belgian striker from remaining too long on the sidelines.
Gazzetta also report that he’s at risk for the weekends match against Verona and the ongoing injury concerns are expected to cause the Inter management to think twice over whether they will extend his loan beyond the summer.
