Bahrain-based Investcorp are reportedly ‘close’ to agreeing a deal to sign AC Milan from current owners, Elliott Management Corporation. An exclusive report from the Reuters news agency claims Investcorp has entered into ‘exclusivity talks’ to purchase the Serie A side.
The follows on from news reported by French newspaper L’Equipe that UEFA were beginning investigations into the club due to their links with French club Lille. L’Equipe suggest that UEFA are closely monitoring transfers between the two clubs as Lille was sold by Elliott to Merlyn Advisors but links between the two groups still exist.
Reuters cite a source who has told them that ‘the deal to buy the Serie A club from current owners Elliott Management Corporation was close to being completed.’
