Dušan Vlahović has agreed personal terms with Beşiktaş, with the move now heading toward a formal signature.
The Serbian striker’s three-year contract is worth around €8m per season, with performance-related bonuses that could push the total closer to €10m.
Beşiktaş chairman Serdal Adalı travelled to Belgrade in person to finalise the paperwork with Vlahović and his representatives.
He is expected back in Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon, with the formal signing now considered a formality rather than an open question.
Vlahović Leaves Juventus As A Free Agent
Vlahović’s move to Beşiktaş brings his Juventus spell to an end after his contract expired on 30 June.
He joined the club from Fiorentina midway through the 2021/22 season, in a deal worth around €85m once solidarity payments and bonuses were factored in.
Across four and a half years in Turin, he scored 68 goals and added 16 assists in 168 appearances.
Juventus had tried at various points over the past year to negotiate a renewal on reduced terms, but the two sides never found common ground.
With no transfer fee involved this time, Vlahović becomes a free-agent signing for Beşiktaş, meaning the financial focus sits entirely on his wages and signing terms rather than a fee paid to Juventus.
Italiano’s Fiorentina Connection Drives The Beşiktaş Move
The move reunites Vlahović with Vincenzo Italiano, who coached him during his prolific spell at Fiorentina before his switch to Juventus.
Italiano has been pushing for the reunion since taking charge at Beşiktaş, with the club’s technical and scouting staff working for weeks to advance the deal.
For Vlahović, it ends a search that reportedly included interest from elsewhere in Serie A and offers from Saudi Arabia, none of which matched what he was looking for in terms of project or salary.
At 26, staying in Europe while working under a coach who already knows how to get the best from him appears to have been the deciding factor.
What Vlahović’s Beşiktaş Deal Still Needs
The remaining step is procedural rather than substantive.
Personal terms are agreed, and the two parties now need to complete the formal contract signing following Adalı’s trip to Belgrade.
Once signed, the deal will end months of speculation over where Vlahović would land after leaving Turin as a free agent.
For Beşiktaş, it delivers a proven Serie A goalscorer and gives Italiano a forward he already trusts as he builds his squad in Istanbul.
