Inter have rejected approaches from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur for striker Lautaro Martinez. The two Premier League sides are reportedly looking for options to boost their attacking lineups in the summer, and have both been linked with the Argentine striker in recent years.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Inter’s response to interest in Martinez was “No, we don’t even want to talk about Lautaro,” claiming that the Nerazzurri have no interest whatsoever in selling the 25-year-old.
The report claims that following the Champions League quarterfinal return leg with Benfica, an intermediary brought the concrete interests of Manchester United and Tottenham for the Argentine to the table, but Inter flat-out refused.
For Inter, Lautaro is the player around whom to they want to base the next sporting project, perhaps with the captain’s armband on his arm, given that he as has already worn it several times this season.
The newspaper also point out that should the club fail to qualify for the Champions League and be forced to sell, they will allow others to leave before Martinez, namely Andre Onana, Denzel Dumfries and Marcelo Brozovic, for whom they would hope to earn close to €100m, combined.
