Napoli are preparing for the possibility of Victor Osimhen’s departure and have identified Canadian striker Jonathan David as a potential replacement. Il Mattino report that Napoli are prepared for the every eventuality and should Osimhen leave this summer, they will once again look to Ligue 1 team Lille for his replacement.
The club are reportedly keen on 23-year-old Jonathan David, with De Laurentiis keen to look at Asian and American players in an effort to make Napoli appeal to a more international audience.
The newspaper claims the ‘operation’ is ‘still in the preliminary stages’, pointing to Napoli’s ability to pre-empt the market and sign promising young talent before their opposition.
The Partenopei are also reportedly keen on Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund while RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku is also being considered.
