Juventus and Lazio are reportedly interested in a player-exchange deal involving Daniele Rugani and Francesco Acerbi. The pair are both on the outs with their respective clubs with Rugani having barely featured since Juve’s Champions League exit, while Acerbi invoked the wrath of the Biancocelesti faithful when appearing to laugh after conceding a goal against Milan.
Journalist Marcello Chirico is among many who report that Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with Rugani again having bought the best out of him during his stint at Empoli.
Acerbi would be seen as the perfect back-up option in Turin, given Giorgio Chiellini’s imminent departure this summer.
Sportmediaset, TuttoMercatoWeb and others report on similar lines, suggesting the two sides are indeed in talks over a possible switch that’s seen as mutually beneficial.
