Al-Nassr in talks for Szczesny, Juventus ready to sell

Start

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has reportedly received an offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. The Bianconeri are looking to overhaul their squad ahead of the arrival of Thiago Motta, and are brining in Michele Di Gregorio as first team goalkeeper.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has initiated negotiations to secure Szczesny as their new goalkeeper. Juventus are prepared to sell the Polish goalkeeper, which would clear the way for Di Gregorio to become the primary keeper under Motta. The move is considered advantageous for Juventus, allowing them to offload Szczesny’s hefty €6.5 million annual salary.

Szczesny, whose contract with Juventus runs until June 30, 2025, had hoped to maintain his starting position despite Di Gregorio’s arrival. He wishes to stay with Juventus until the summer of 2025, aiming to conclude his career at a high level with the club. However, the arrival of Di Gregorio from Monza, coupled with organizational and technical decisions, might alter the situation.

The Szczesny situation aligns with Juventus’ management’s intention to retain Mattia Perin, who is set to compete with Di Gregorio for the starting spot. The former Genoa player’s contract expires in 2025, and discussions about an extension are scheduled in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Szczesny faces a critical decision, with Al-Nassr emerging as a serious contender for his next destination.
