Allegri: ‘The most satisfying thing is to beat Inter after three defeats’

Max Allegri said it was nice to go back to beating Inter after three defeats and a draw against the Nerazurri. Juve turned in one of their best performances of the season, turning the game around in the second half to win 2-0, despite having another goal ruled out by VAR. Speaking to DAZN after the game, Allegri explained how important it was to win in such a historic fixture:

The most satisfying thing is to beat Inter after three defeats and a draw in the last four. It was important to win a head-to-head match. We also played well technically. When playing games with this attitude it is difficult to score goals.

We did well today but we have to get back and think about the next two games. With tonight’s victory we didn’t solve all our problems. We have done excellent things but we still need to improve.

The season is long, we had some problems, especially in the Champions League. Right now we have to see who we are facing. Napoli are doing something extraordinary, but after the break we will see. We will do our best.

What did I say to Rabiot? I asked him if he was happy telling him that I respect him and consider him a huge player with important margins for improvement. Tonight he had a great game putting himself at the service of the team.

Seeing the team like this was nice. When they make themselves available to one other, it is easier to bring home the victory. The greatest certainties are those of a team that works together, that help and understand the moments. Earlier in the season, we would play about 30 minutes and then drift off, but we are in it all the way now, even during tough moments. That is an important step. This is the right spirit and raises the level of competition within the squad.”
