Juventus coach Max Allegri admits there is some regret following their 1-1 draw with Roma: ‘We could have done better’. The Bianconeri had a number of chances to take the lead at the Olimpico, but had to settle for a hard-fought draw after Bremer equalised from a set-piece. Speaking with Sky Sport, Allegri reflected on the performance and the Bianconeri’s season as a whole:
“We knew Inter was clearly stronger.” The match between Roma and Juventus ends 1-1: Lukaku and Bremer on target. At the end of the match, Massimiliano Allegri spoke to Dazn’s microphones to analyze the team’s performance. Allegri’s words post-match:
Allegri began by discussing Juventus’ final management: “We risked losing a match we hadn’t managed to win. Roma made a comeback, we had chances, but then in the last two minutes, our ball management was incredible.” Allegri then talked about the season: “There is regret, we could have done better. Sometimes football is brutal because things go well for a period and then not. When you lose sight of the main objective, even though we knew Inter was clearly the stronger team, you tend to slow down. We had some unfavorable situations. The boys did well to stay focused, and on Saturday, we have the opportunity to close everything with Salernitana.”
The coach continued: “Fagioli is a talented boy and we missed him. The same goes for Pogba: they could have helped us. The club will evaluate the squad at the end of the season; the important thing is to focus on the next match. But there is an excellent foundation. Decision about my future? I don’t know, ask the club. There are now 10-15 days left until the end of the season.” Allegri finally talked about the midfield: “The midfield makes the team work. Our midfielders had a great season. We worked a lot on our limitations.”
