Max Allegri admits that his Juventus team needs a reset after going four matches in a row without a win: “We shouldn’t think we’re already in the Champions League.” The match between the Bianconeri and Verona ended 2-2, with the the Old Lady having to come back from a goal down twice to eek out a draw. Speaking with DAZN, Allegri conceded that his team need to rethink their ideas and admitted that he had prepared the switch to 4-3-3 before the game:
“A game like this, we could have also lost. Now we need to reorganize our ideas and clarify the objective well. We are now conceding goals too easily. We need to prepare well for the match against Frosinone.”
“Against Udinese, we had 5/6 chances and didn’t score – he continued -. It can happen. The important thing was not to concede goals; we have taken 2 points in the last four.”
Regarding the change in formation: “I had prepared it to recover from the disadvantage. But it’s not the system of play that makes the difference; teamwork is needed. Even after the change, we took some unnecessary risks; we made many technical mistakes. With today’s match, we need to overcome the disappointment from the Empoli game.”
About the season: “We shouldn’t think we’re already in the Champions League. Until there is mathematical certainty, we need to continue working. Have the players dreamed of the Scudetto? From today, it shouldn’t affect us anymore; we need to reset. We played a good game, but it’s not enough.”
