A tearful Angel Di Maria bid farewell to Paris Saint-Germain and explained ‘there’s time’ for a move to Juve before returning to Argentina. The 34-year-old ended a seven-year stint in the French capital and leaves PSG as a free agent next month when his contract officially ends.
Speaking to ESPN Argentina after the game, the winger was asked about a possible move to Turin to join Juve:
I’m calm, there is time, I have to think. It’s not just my decision. I’ve always thought about myself and my family. I will make the best choice for everyone, my 2 daughters, my wife and myself.
“Why am I leaving PSG? It’s the club’s decision. Everyone knew I wanted to stay one more year. I wanted to continue to win the Champions League, we came close, that’s the only thing I miss.
“But I know that the boys will continue on the same path, they will try to win. I want the best for this team, I have to respect the club’s decision.”
