Juventus delivered a decisive blow to Manchester City’s Champions League campaign, securing a 2-0 victory that may have reignited their own season while deepening City’s ongoing crisis. The Turin giants, who had been struggling domestically, found their form on the European stage with goals from Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie.

Both teams entered the match with identical records of eight points, making this encounter crucial for their Champions League aspirations. The first half saw limited opportunities, with Kenan Yildiz coming closest for Juventus with a long-range effort that narrowly missed the target. City’s Erling Haaland had a chance to break the deadlock but was denied by Michele Di Gregorio’s alert goalkeeping.

The deadlock was broken in the 53rd minute when Vlahovic capitalized on a rebound, heading home from close range after Ederson failed to clear Yildiz’s cross. City’s attempts to equalize were thwarted by Juventus’ resolute defense, with Federico Gatti making a crucial block to deny Jeremy Doku.

The Italian side sealed their victory with a spectacular counter-attack goal. Weston McKennie, who had started the move, finished it with an acrobatic scissor-kick volley following Tim Weah’s assist. This American-made goal showcased Juventus’ efficiency and teamwork, leaving City with no response.

This result not only boosts Juventus’ position in the Champions League but also raises questions about Manchester City’s form, as they suffer their seventh defeat in ten matches across all competitions.
