Brazilian midfielder Arthur says he is happy in Florence, but his future is dependent on Juventus and Fiorentina. The 27-year-old joined La Viola on loan in the summer and has gone on to flourish under coach Vincenzo Italiano. Speaking ahead of Fiorentina’s match with Milan this weekend, Arthur spoke about the kind of match he expects, as well as offering a little insight on his future beyond this season:
“Our main objective is to win every game and then we will see where we can get to. Against Milan it will be a very difficult match, against a very strong team. And it will be even more difficult to play at their home. But our goal is to play every game with the right attitude.”
“Leao and Giroud are doing really well and we know they are very strong. It’s better for us if they don’t play, but Milan have a lot of strong players. Whoever comes into the Milan team can hurt us, we have to stay focused. Regardless of who plays and who doesn’t play, we have to think about our team and what we can do well”.
“Moving to La Viola? Last year Fiorentina had a wonderful season, they reached the final of the Coppa Italia and the final of the Conference League. Coach Italiano convinced me, we talked a lot. He is very good, then I met him here in training and I can say it: he is crazy, but he is a phenomenon. I’m sure I made the right choice, also for my partner: Florence is a beautiful city, too beautiful, we eat very well. Brazilians like meat, here we have Fiorentina steak’.
“The future? I am very happy at Fiorentina, but it is a choice that does not depend on me. I am the property of Juventus, it does not depend on me. What I can say is that I am very happy in Florence.”
