Atalanta are reportedly leading the race to sign Austrian defender Kevin Danso, but they’ll face competition from West Ham and Wolves for his signature. Despite his important role at Lens, the club has reportedly given Danso permission to explore transfer opportunities.
According to Footmercato, Danso has caught the eye of prominent Italian clubs, including Atalanta Bergamo and Napoli. Interest from England has also emerged, with Wolverhampton and West Ham closely monitoring the player’s situation.
Danso joined Lens in the summer of 2021 after spells with Augsburg, Southampton, and Fortuna Düsseldorf. He quickly established himself as a crucial part of the Lens defense alongside Jonathan Gradit and Facundo Medina. His outstanding performance in the 2022-2023 season, where Lens boasted the best defense in Ligue 1, elevated his status and attracted attention from European giants like Bayern Munich.
