Atalanta will not sign Merih Demiral

Atalanta will not be using their option to sign Merih Demiral but his future doesn’t lie at Juventus either. The Turkish international joined La Dea last summer in a bid to secure more playing time having failed to break into the starting XI at Juve.

It was initially thought that Atalanta would exercise their option to sign Demiral for around €20m, but Romeo Agresti reports that he will not be staying in Bergamo.

The 24-year-old is on his way back to Turin but Agresti suggests that Juventus have no intention of keeping the player, and will try and move him on to a new club.

Demiral made 42 appearances for Atalanta last season, scoring 2 goals in all competitions.
