La Liga side Barcelona are following Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly with a view to a summer transfer. The Senegalese international has a contract with the Partenopei until 2023 but has yet to agree an extension to his deal.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report this morning that the players agent, Fali Ramadani, visited the Nou Camp recently. The talks were reportedly to discuss the future of Miralem Pjanic, currently on loan at Besiktas from Barcelona. Gazzetta suggest that the talks went further as Barca coach Xavi is searching for new centre-backs for his squad.
Koulibaly still has a strong connection with Napoli, and the suggestion is that the next few months will be decisive in his future at the club.
Barcelona are prepared to offer the 30-year-old a large salary until 2026, despite Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis having rejected sizeable offers for the defender in the past.
