Bologna are being linked with a potential move for Egyptian international Mohamed Abdelmonem as they look to replace Riccardo Calafiori. With Calafiori on the verge of a move to Arsenal, the Rossoblu are keen to find a suitable replacement and are being linked with Abdelmonem.
Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the 25-year-old center-back, currently playing for Al-Ahly in Egypt, has caught the attention of the Italian side as they prepare for the upcoming season under new head coach Vincenzo Italiano.
Abdelmonem has been a standout performer for Al-Ahly, featuring in 21 league matches last season and contributing one goal. His defensive prowess has been particularly notable, with the player also making 12 appearances in the prestigious African Champions League. On the international stage, Abdelmonem has already amassed 25 caps for Egypt, finding the net twice for his country.
