Napoli have agreed a deal with La Liga side Celta Vigo for the transfer of young midfield talent Gabri Veiga. The 21-year-old is considered one of the brightest prospects in Spanish football, and was linked with a move to Premier League club Liverpool earlier this month before the Partenopei moved in.
Reports circulated last week that Napoli were close to agreeing a deal for Veiga, but transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports today that a deal is done and will be announced soon.
Romano writes that the entire move will cost Napoli €36 million: €30 million as a fixed fee and up to €6 million in add-ons. Documents for the transfer are being prepared and medicals will be scheduled shortly afterwards.
Veiga, a product of the Celta youth system, made his way through the clubs ‘B’ team before having an explosive 2022-23 season, scoring 11 goals in 36 La Liga appearances.
