Torino’s president, Urbano Cairo, responded to coach Ivan Juric’s remarks, saying: “I appreciate the frankness”. Juric held an extraordinary press conference yesterday to apologize to the fans after his comment following the match against Salernitana: “Not all fans have the Toro spirit.” A statement that didn’t sit well with the Granata management. The coach clarified the situation, which was also addressed by Torino’s president, Urbano Cairo.
Speaking on the sidelines of the presentation of the Maglia Rosa of the Giro d’Italia, at the Pinacoteca di Brera, Cairo said:
“An act of great generosity. The fact that Juric says this is a way to take on great responsibility that is shared by the entire club and the whole team.”
The president continued: “I appreciate it once again: Juric is straightforward, he doesn’t hide. It’s a statement from someone who believes in his team and has a growth objective after two nevertheless satisfying years.”
Cairo concluded: “We all believe in this step forward; we will all try our best to keep Juric even next year.”
