Chiellini linked with MLS move

Giorgio Chiellini will play his penultimate game for the Azzurri tomorrow and his future with Juventus is also up in air. The 37-year-old has missed a large period of the current season through injury but will return to the starting XI for Italy tomorrow.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the friendly match against Turkey will be Chiellini’s penultimate, before playing his final game with the national team in June’s friendly with Argentina.

Gazzetta and Il Corriere Torino suggest that despite having a contract with Juventus until 2023, the veteran defender may also call time on his Bianconeri career in the summer, with a season in MLS a possibility.

Whatever happens in the short term, Chiellini is expected to return to Turin when his playing career finishes to take up a role in the Juventus management team.
