Despite the links, Chiellini has now been confirmed in a new role for LAFC, with the MLS side releasing a statement confirming the news:

“Legendary defender and former LAFC player Giorgio Chiellini will remain with LAFC as player development coach, the club announced today. Chiellini, who played with LAFC for two seasons from 2022-2023, announced his retirement from professional football in December.

In his new role, Chiellini will work with LAFC coach Steve Cherundolo and the coaching staff to assist in the development of first-team players.
