Venezia manager Eusebio Di Francesco shared his thoughts with Sky Sport before his team’s match against Roma, praising his club’s efforts in creating a positive atmosphere around the team and assembling the squad. He stated, “We must compliment the club, the director, and the president, who have worked excellently in this direction.”
When asked about the unity between the team and the fans, Di Francesco emphasized the importance of this connection: “We need this, and I believe it’s important to return a bit to the past when players were closer to the fans. I think it’s right because, in the end, we are people like everyone else; we don’t come from another planet. We need to understand that we need the affection of our people.”
Regarding the upcoming match against Roma at the Olimpico and its significance to him, Di Francesco reflected on his past experiences: “It has happened to me many times. I am very attached to the city, first of all, because this club is different from when I was there. However, Roman fans and Romanism are something unique, as they describe it, and it’s beautiful because you only realize it when you experience it.”
Despite his fond memories of Roma, Di Francesco made it clear that his current focus is on his role at Venezia: “Now, however, I must win over the Venezia fans, first of all, and we must do it together with my players, with the ultimate goal of staying in Serie A.”
