Di Maria prefers Barcelona move

Juventus have yet to make a substantial move forward in talks for Angel Di Maria, opening the door for Barcelona to make a move. The 34-year-old was thought to be close to agreeing a switch to the Bianconeri this summer, having ended a seven-year stint with PSG.

Juve reportedly offered the Argentine winger a one-year contract and were thought to be in the final stages of agreeing terms.

Sky Sport Italia now report that Juve have yet to make ‘substantial strides’ in the deal for Di Maria and the move is some way from being complete.

Sky also report that Di Maria has also attracted the interest of La Liga side Barcelona and would prefer to wait before making a decision on his future.

Journalist Matteo Moretto goes a step further, reporting that the player has already given his ‘OK’ to a move to Barcelona and would prefer a return to Spain this summer.
