Roma have successfully concluded negotiations for Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk, with the deal set to be finalized imminently. The Giallorossi’s sporting director Ghisolfi traveled to Spain to negotiate directly with Girona, completing his mission to secure the talented forward.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma have reached an agreement with the Spanish club for a fee of approximately €33-34 million, plus bonuses and a 10% sell-on clause. The total package is expected to reach around €35 million.
Dovbyk, who has been a top target for Roma, was personally reassured by Ghisolfi about his future with the Italian club. The 26-year-old Ukrainian international is scheduled to arrive in Italy on Thursday, likely accompanied by Ghisolfi himself, to complete the formalities and sign his contract.
The striker’s impressive performance in the recently concluded season, where he scored 25 goals and provided 10 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions, made him a highly sought-after player. Dovbyk also finished as the top scorer in La Liga, further underlining his goalscoring prowess.
This acquisition follows Roma’s recent signing of Matias Soulé and represents another significant move in the club’s summer transfer strategy. The addition of Dovbyk is expected to bolster Roma’s attacking options considerably as they prepare for the upcoming season.
