Dovbyk on standby for Milan if Zirkzee deal fails

With Giroud set to depart for Los Angeles, Milan are actively seeking a new striker for the upcoming season. While Joshua Zirkzee’s name has been circulating, another contender in the mix is Artem Dovbyk, currently at Girona.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that during Geoffrey Moncada’s recent overseas expedition, where he met with Aston Villa and other English clubs needing to sell by month-end, Milan secured the necessary figures to potentially finalize a deal for Dovbyk.

Despite having the means to secure Dovbyk’s transfer, the deal is currently on standby as the striker serves as an alternative option to Zirkzee, with Milan carefully weighing their options for their attacking reinforcement.

In the 2023-34 season, the Ukrainian striker amassed an impressive record of 25 goals and 10 assists in 41 matches, topping the goal-scoring charts in La Liga.
