Dybala: ‘I feel reborn at Roma, my future is here’

Roma forward Paulo Dybala confirmed his future with the club, saying he feels ‘reborn’ with the Giallorossi: ‘My future is here.’ The Argentine has a release clause in his contact that allows non-Italian teams to sign him for just €12m this summer, however talks are reportedly underway to renew his contract and improve his salary, effectively removing the clause. Speaking with Marca (as quoted by Romapress) La Joya talked about his move to the capital, the greeting he received from the clubs fans and why he wants to stay at Roma:

“It’s true, at Roma I feel reborn. Everyone welcomed me with such warmth. The passion in this city is very strong, we always play with a full stadium and it’s a very large stadium.”

“The fans made me feel at home from day one and this helped me to be able to give my all and try to keep Roma on top.”

“Contributing to the team is always nice. We’re in a good situation, we’re fighting to get into the Champions League, and it’s not easy because there are so many big clubs competing for the same objective. It won’t be easy in the Europa League but we are very excited. I hope I can help the team keep winning.”

“As a leader, if I want to play better I need the team to be in good shape. This is not just about one individual. We are a united group fighting for the same dream.”

“Mourinho? We have good communication where we compare, think, talk to each other, and try to understand what we think in a certain situation. I’m pleased that a coach like him, who has had many important players and won a lot, says good things about me. Mou helps us a lot because he facilitates our approach to games.”

“Before arriving in Rome I had already spoken on the phone with José. I liked his way of communicating and his way of being, the way he faces every training session and every game.”

“That call convinced me to come to Rome. I had the opportunity to play with the best in the world and now I have the opportunity to be with one of the best coaches. I was drawn to him, he’s a winner.”

“The release clause? Surely we will talk about it later. My future is here. My future is taking Roma to the top and I think we can do it. What will happen in the future… I don’t know, because the most important thing now is the games that await us.”
