La Gazzetta dello Sport report that despite his decision to stay, Dybala’s position as an undisputed starter is now in question. Recently, he was benched during a preseason friendly against Everton, and Roma’s coach, Daniele De Rossi, has indicated that no player, including Dybala, is irreplaceable. This has led to speculation that Dybala might not start in the upcoming Serie A opener against Cagliari, especially if De Rossi opts for a 4-3-3 formation, where Soulé is preferred as the right winger.
Roma are happy to retain Dybala, despite his substantial salary, unless a significant offer from another European club arises.
