Fiorentina Explore Thiago Almada Transfer

Start

Fiorentina continue their active pursuit of offensive reinforcements, and the latest player to emerge on their radar is Thiago Almada from Atlanta United. The Serie A club, under the guidance of Vincenzo Italiano, is keen on bolstering its attacking options as the January transfer window approaches its conclusion.

Sky Sport Italia report that in recent hours, Fiorentina made attempts to secure the services of Genoa’s Gudmunsson and Inter’s Valentin Carboni, both with offers of €20 million. Unfortunately, both offers were rebuffed, prompting the Viola to explore international options. Alongside pursuits for Ruben Vargas and Brian Rodriguez, Fiorentina has now registered interest in Thiago Almada from Major League Soccer (MLS) side Atlanta United.

However, the American club’s asking price currently stands at around €25 million, a figure deemed too high by Fiorentina compared to their valuation. Despite the initial setback, Fiorentina remains active in the pursuit of Almada, whose performances in the MLS have caught the attention of European clubs.

Born in 2001, Almada played a pivotal role in Argentina’s triumph at the recent World Cup in Qatar and currently captains the Sub-23 squad at the Pre-Olympics in Venezuela. In the past weeks, the former Vélez player expressed his desire to leave MLS and make a move to Europe during this transfer window, opening a window of opportunity for Fiorentina to explore.
