Fiorentina make first offer for Albert Gudmundsson

Start

Fiorentina has made their first official move to acquire Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa. The Icelandic attacking midfielder has emerged as a top priority for Fiorentina, especially as they look to potentially replace Nico Gonzalez, who is being pursued by both Juventus and Atalanta.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports Fiorentina presented their initial offer to Genoa for Gudmundsson. The proposal consists of a loan deal worth €5 million, with an obligation to buy set at €20 million, subject to certain conditions being met.

While Genoa’s ownership is reportedly seeking a higher loan fee, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing positively. There is growing optimism that an agreement can be reached to bring Gudmundsson to Fiorentina.

Gudmundsson has been with Genoa since January 2022 and has made a significant impact during his time with the club. Last season, he featured in 35 matches, scoring 14 goals and providing 4 assists. Overall, he has played 87 games for Genoa, contributing 31 goals and 10 assists.

The potential acquisition of Gudmundsson would bolster Fiorentina’s attacking options and provide manager Raffaele Palladino with a versatile and productive player. As negotiations continue, both clubs appear to be working towards finalizing a deal that would see the Icelandic talent make the move to Florence.
