In an exclusive interview with MilanNews24, La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Bianchin shared his thoughts on Francesco Camarda’s future with AC Milan. The young striker has been making waves in the youth ranks, prompting discussions about his potential inclusion in the first team.
Bianchin expressed caution about rushing Camarda’s development, stating, “I still believe that some young players have been ruined in the past by money and fame. In Camarda’s case, he seems to have a remarkable mentality and undeniable application so far, although he still needs to be tested in many aspects. He has already been subjected to some tests like no other 16-year-old in the recent history of Italian football.”
Regarding Camarda’s potential inclusion in the first team, Bianchin said, “Inserting him into the first team still seems premature to me. He will certainly get some minutes, and I think Milan could include him in the first team squad as a third striker, without putting the weight of exaggerated expectations on him. The numbers already speak for themselves, but we need to take it one step at a time.”
Bianchin also cautioned against drawing comparisons with other young talents like Barcelona’s Yamal, saying, “Yamal is a reference, but let’s not forget that phenomena are not replicable. I saw him a year ago in Milan-Barcelona, and in a year he has won a European Championship as a protagonist. Thinking that Camarda can do so much is unfair, and I wouldn’t put this weight on him.”
